New York, NY, November 6, 2019 – The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) 2019 New York City Marathon Team featured twenty-five runners from twenty different States all willing to take on 26.2 miles to support the fight against Huntington’s disease (HD), a rare neurological disease. To date, the HDSA team raised more than $133,000 finishing in the top 18 among all NYC Marathon Charity Partners.
“From seasoned athletes to first time runners, the HDSA Marathon Team showed once again that the HD community is fearless in its fight to improve the health of everyone affected by HD,” said Louise Vetter, HDSA’s President & CEO. Everyone on the team and their supporters helped increase visibility and raise essential resources to help care for those affected by HD. Congratulations to everyone!”
The team’s fastest runner was Craig Robinson who finished with an impressive time of 2:34:55, which was good enough for 118th overall. The top fundraiser was Kari Baker from Florida who raised more than $11,000. And special thanks to EisnerAmper for being the team’s Presenting Sponsor.
