This question is asked on every SSDI application, but it is very important to know that only 10% of individuals that apply for SSDI are also eligible for SSI. SSI is the financial need-based disability program that has very strict asset limits. Most individuals applying for SSDI do not meet the asset limit criteria, and it will not be a good use of your time to complete the SSI application if you are well over the asset limit and monthly income limit:
