Welcome to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s HD Trial Finder, a free, easy-to-use clinical trial matching service that connects individuals with Huntington’s disease, caregivers, healthy volunteers and physicians with current studies. Our continuously updated database includes both interventional and observational studies being conducted at trial sites across the country.

Your Participation Is Imperative

Through clinical trials, researchers are testing new ways to detect, treat and prevent Huntington’s disease. Recruiting clinical trial participants in a timely manner, as well as maintaining their participation in trials, is the greatest obstacle to developing the next HD treatment.

The entire HD community needs your help. Without participation, finding a cure is virtually impossible. Until a cure exists, the best possible way to fight back against HD is to participate in the research process. People with HD, caregivers and healthy volunteers are all needed today to participate in all aspects of HD and research.

When you join a clinical trial, you have an opportunity to participate in vital research that could change the course of this disease and improve the lives of all those it affects. Your participation in clinical trials provides hope for today and promise for a future free of HD.

If you are thinking about joining a clinical trial, talk with your family and doctor about what is right for you. Share the HD Trial Finder website or HD Trial Finder brochure with them so they understand how to use the service and the types of HD-related clinical trials being conducted across the country.

Where Do Trial Listings Come From?

The trial listings in the HDSA HD Trial Finder come from publicly available sources, such as clinicaltrials.gov from the National Institutes of Health. In addition, direct outreach is being made to a wide variety of researchers and trial sites across the country to include their HD related clinical research studies in the database. For example, HDSA will engage scientists involved in the HD Human Biology Project to include their exploratory clinical studies in the HD Trial Finder database.

HDSA HD Trial Finder only lists trials and studies that have Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval. An IRB is a committee that approves, monitors and reviews research involving humans to protect the rights and welfare of the research subjects. Trials are also subject to additional review by the HDSA Scientific Advisory Board prior to being listed to ensure that listings only include credible trials and investigators.

Attention Researchers and Physicians: Include Your Study

Click the link below and fill out our request form and submit it to KAndrew@hdsa.org. A CareBox Health representative will contact you to notify you of the status of your request. Studies undergo an internal review by CareBox and HDSA to determine eligibility for posting in the database.

Please note: if your study is or will be listed on clinicaltrials.gov there is no need to submit a request form, as these studies are automatically added to HDSA’s HDTrialFinder on a weekly basis.

If you have questions or for more information contact Kelly Andrew, Manager, Mission Grant Programs, at KAndrew@hdsa.org.
