Dear Friends of HDSA,
I hope that you and your family are well as we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite all of the challenges of the past year, HDSA’s mission work – to improve the lives of everyone affected by Huntington’s disease and their families – has continued to bring important educational resources, community support and research news to our community.
As you are aware, HDSA’s programs and events have transitioned to virtual platforms to keep everyone safe while continuing the fight against Huntington’s disease.
At the end of January we sent a survey to individuals who attended recent HDSA Annual Conventions to collect important feedback as we plan the 36th Annual HDSA Convention scheduled for Spokane, Washington this June. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts about travel and programmatic expectations for a 2021 HDSA Annual Convention.
After reviewing the survey results, working with the Convention host hotel, and consulting Washington State guidelines (current and projected) related to events, we have made the difficult decision to once again host the 36th Annual Convention virtually. So, mark your calendars to join us virtually on June 10th-13th, 2021.
As much as we would love to have been in Spokane with you in June, the health and safety of our families remains our top priority. Plans are already underway for another world-class virtual event which will reach more people around the globe than ever before and will ensure that families around the world have free access to our incredible HDSA Annual Convention program.
In addition, our annual Leadership Day, NYA Day and Professional Training for Social Workers events will also be hosted online. If you were planning on participating in any one of those related Convention activities, stay tuned for more information from the appropriate HDSA team member.
Stay tuned to HDSA emails, social media and continue to monitor HDSA.org for Convention updates, including the timeline for activities. We look forward to all that we will learn and share together this June. And we can’t wait until we’re able to see everyone in person … hopefully in 2022!
